Job Role 

Reporting to the Club InterContinental Manager, this diverse, challenging role is focused on consistently providing thoughtful, caring, sincere and personalized service to our high-end clientele whilst overseeing all butlers during their day-to-day operation.  You will primarily act as the personal host to our suite guests and work to ensure a flawless experience for our guests, and to display the very essence of hospitality.  The role is very hands-on, and will be expected to be very flexible, whilst assisting fellow colleagues in other areas when necessary.

 

Further responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Works closely with all departments, namely Front Office, Reservations, Bell Captains, Housekeeping and Laundry in assuring the smooth handling of guests arrivals and departures;
  • Handling all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests, resolves customer complaints and assisting customers in all inquiries in connection with hotel services;
  • Anticipates guests needs prior to arrival, arranging the appropriate guest room amenities and following up with guests in order to ensure total satisfaction with regards to guest-related issues;
  • Welcoming guests upon arrival, furnish guests with information on events and/or activities whilst offering a personalized service throughout their stay;
  • Find occasions to create an ‘At Your Side’ memorable moments for guests;
  • Maintain a relationship with guests in order to obtain information regarding departure time and transfers as well as collect guests’ stay feedback in order to be used for service improvement areas;
  • Assist the Human Resources function in the recruitment, on boarding and training of colleagues, as well as conduct colleagues performance review;
  • Assign colleagues’ work schedules, and ensure that colleagues are:
    • informed about the guests’ special interest and needs
    • providing guests quality service
    • complying with company policies at all times;
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information whilst protecting company assets;

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate should be smart in appearance, highly organized and have solid management skills as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Moreover the ideal candidate must be responsible, genuine with customers as well as aware and sensitive to the concept of quality, and holds strong leadership and motivational skills.  The preferred candidate must be very resourceful, ‘hands on’, possesses negotiation skills and has a problem solving and a ‘get it done’ attitude.

 

A Higher Diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Management or Butler School background qualification together with Opera knowledge and a minimum of three years relevant experience at a hotel of similar size and complexity will be highly regarded.  Fluency in English and the ability to speak other languages, preferably French, German, Arabic and/or Italian is highly preferred.
